Edmonton, AB – July 29, 2019 – Today the University Hospital Foundation launched Here magazine, an engaging and informative inside look at inspiring stories and medical advancements being made right here in Edmonton at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.
“There are so many innovative developments in the medical field happening right in our city that are only happening because of the generous support of donors,” said Jamie Bliss, Vice President, Marketing and Communications with the University Hospital Foundation. “With health care philanthropy, we can do so much more to push the boundaries of care, and drive research and advancement. We want to share those stories.”
The inaugural issue of Here magazine celebrates the innovations, successes and medical field advancements that are impacting lives in Alberta and around the world. These local success stories are made possible by the donors, sponsors and supporters of the University Hospital Foundation.
Learn about new advancements that were once thought to be pure science fiction, including how two surgeons at the University of Alberta Hospital have developed technology to keep lungs alive outside the body for the purpose of transplants.
45,000 copies of the magazine will be distributed to supporters, patients, their families and the broader community through distribution with Avenue Edmonton’s August issue, on-location distribution at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, and direct mail delivery to Foundation supporters.
