Neurological illness and injuries are a leading cause of disability in Alberta and around the world. Currently, neurologic patients admitted to the University of Alberta Hospital can have up to a 25 day wait before they can be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility.
Dr. Chester Ho, Senior Medical Director for AHS Neuroscience in the Rehabilitation & Vision Strategic Clinical Network, is interested in the integration of research into clinical practice, and we are committed to transforming neuro rehabilitation with the addition of a state-of-the-art Neuro Rehabilitation Innovation Centre at the University of Alberta Hospital. A Neuro Rehabilitation Innovation Centre will offer advanced rehabilitation technology for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries, creating a positive impact on patient care and experience.
Watch our recorded presentation to learn from Dr. Ho about how this center will impact neuro rehabilitation in Alberta and around the world.
