Edmonton, Alberta, July 2, 2024 — Today, the University Hospital Foundation has launched the sixth edition of HERE magazine, and with that, answers to a question that is equal parts intriguing, challenging and crazy exciting.
“We all know that healthcare is changing,” says Dr. Jodi Abbott, President and CEO of the University Hospital Foundation. “And we are wondering what changes in treatment, research and disease prevention will look like in the future. So, we put the question to some of the people right here in Edmonton who are at the forefront of that change.”
An engaging and informative inside look at inspiring stories and medical advancements being made at the University of Alberta Hospital site, which includes the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, this issue of HERE Magazine covers a range of issues – from finding a cure to Alzheimer’s disease to excitement around the virtual home hospital and the superpowers of artificial intelligence.
“The common thread in every story is the role that donors to the University Hospital Foundation have played, and continue to play, in making these advancements possible,” adds Dr. Abbott.
The magazine will be distributed to supporters, patients, their families and the broader community through distribution with Edify Edmonton’s July issue, on-location distribution at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, and direct mail delivery to Foundation supporters.
