41st Annual Festival of Trees Raises over $2.8 million for the University Hospital Foundation

The University Hospital Foundation is proud to share the success of its 41st annual Festival of Trees, presented by Landmark Homes. Early results show the event has raised over $2.8 million in support of the Foundation’s work to advance head and heart health, including disease prevention, research, innovation and improved care across Alberta and beyond.

“The Festival of Trees continues to demonstrate the power of community coming together with purpose,” said Dr. Jodi Abbott, President & CEO of the University Hospital Foundation. “This year’s support helps drive forward vital work in head and heart health, improving lives today and building better outcomes for tomorrow. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us and made this year’s Festival such an extraordinary success.”

This year’s Festival featured three much-loved signature events, bringing together more than 200 volunteers and committee members to welcome thousands of supporters to the Edmonton Convention Centre.

Highlights included:

  • Gala, presented by Suncor An elegant black-tie evening of generosity and fine dining, Gala sold out in early September and welcomed 1150 guests on November 27.
  • Silver Bell Soirée, presented by Cantiro Our cocktail-style Silver Bell Soirée is the holiday party to kick off the season, featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres along with entertainment and fundraising. This year, Soirée brought together 870 guests.
  • Santa’s Breakfast, presented by Volvo Cars Edmonton A beloved family tradition, Santa’s Breakfast brings generations together to share a delicious waffle breakfast, enjoy children’s games and activities and offer the opportunity to meet Santa. We sold out in 2025 and welcomed 850 guests!

About the Festival of Trees

Since 1985, the University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees has brought families and friends together to celebrate the season, create lasting memories and support critically important causes at the University of Alberta Hospital. To date, Festival of Trees has raised more than $25 million. Funds have supported critical, life-saving innovations like Gamma Knife radiosurgery, the expansion of the cardiovascular intensive care unit at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the opening of the West Edmonton Kidney Care clinic.
