Introducing Operation Frontline Impact

The Year We Were Not Expecting:

2020 was the year no one expected, but as we continue through one day at a time, our staff look to see the light at the end of the tunnel. COVID-19 has isolated so many. Patients at the hospitals have continued to feel alone due to the pandemic restrictions in place. Patients counted down the days until they could be with their loved ones. For some, that day never came. Each day our hospital staff continued to fight an unrelenting enemy. They showed up for their patients, their families, and our community. Many working long shifts forced into isolation away from their loved ones to keep them safe. The road has been a long and challenging one. Still, our frontline workers are resilient and compassionate, and they continue forward knowing they are making a difference, often forgetting to address their own physical and emotional needs.

The Year We Were Not Expecting:

With the mandate to help improve health outcomes for the people we serve, the Edmonton, Central and North Zone hospital foundations share many similar values. Together, we stand committed to acknowledging our respective hospital’s hard work and the challenges they have faced. As Operation Frontline Impact, we address the emergent needs of our frontline staff, who have been committed to the fight against COVID-19.

Who We Are:

Thanks to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation’s commitment and altruistic support, our hospital foundations can help address some of the challenges faced by our heroic frontline workers. They have designated the Edmonton Oilers first two playoff 50/50 games to support Operation Frontline Impact, with the first playoff game scheduled for May 19th. Learn More
