40th Annual Festival of Trees Raises $2.6 Million and Counting

December 5, 2024 | Edmonton, Alberta

The University Hospital Foundation (the Foundation) is thrilled to announce the incredible success of its 40th annual Festival of Trees, presented by Landmark Homes, raising an outstanding $2.6 million and counting to support its mission of advancing health care and innovation. This year’s proceeds will focus on Alzheimer’s research, alongside other essential initiatives supported by the Foundation.

“The overwhelming generosity of our community during the Festival of Trees is truly inspiring,” said Dr. Jodi Abbott, President & CEO of the University Hospital Foundation. “These funds will have a transformative impact, helping to further critical research and enhance the quality of life for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this year’s Festival such a resounding success.”

Highlights of the 2024 Festival included the sold-out Gala (presented by Sharon & Jim Brown, the Shelley & Guy Scott Family Foundation, and Kim & Don Wheaton), Silver Bell Soirée (presented by Cantiro) and Santa’s Breakfast (presented by Volvo Cars Edmonton), which, all together, brought around 2,700 supporters to celebrate the season of giving over three days at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

The 2024 Festival of Trees was made possible thanks to the support of our presenting sponsor, Landmark Homes, as well as our incredible partners and volunteers. The Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to every individual and organization that contributed, including sponsors, attendees and donors.

“Every year, as November approaches, our Landmark team starts to buzz with pride, anticipation and excitement,” says Reza Nasseri, Founder & CEO of Landmark Homes. “The Festival of Trees, this year, and in decades past, is decidedly the pinnacle event for our organization. The spirit of the season moves us, and the opportunity to further crucial research to tackle

conditions like Alzheimer’s, Heart Disease and Type 1 Diabetes, affords our work through the year even deeper meaning. We are forever indebted to our community, and we are tremendously grateful to play a part in supporting the life-changing impact the University Hospital Foundation provides.”
