The Dr. Masaru Yukawa Award for Innovation in Workplace Wellness will be awarded annually to support projects and initiatives that seek to better understand or to improve the social, cultural and psychological health of the operating rooms and allied areas of the University of Alberta Hospital.
The award was established by the colleagues of Dr. Masaru Yukawa, a dynamic young man and supremely talented physician, who took his own life following a longstanding and very private battle with mental illness.
