From humble beginnings in rural Alberta to becoming one of Canada’s most respected politicians, the Right Honourable Don Mazankowski has left an indelible mark on those he knew and loved, and the millions of Canadians he served during his 25 years in politics, and later, following his retirement from public office, as he continued to dedicate so much of his life to helping others.

The Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute opened its doors to wide acclaim in 2009. It has met the expectations as a leading cardiac care centre for people of all ages and stages of life, from across northern Alberta, the Territories, and Manitoba, Saskatchewan and eastern British Columbia.

Just as important, the Maz, as it’s become known, is living up to its namesake.
