People Coordinator
The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources professional to join our fast-paced team. In this role you will bring People processes and practices to life. You will participate in developing, implementing and scaling People initiatives by providing direct support to our leaders, employees and volunteers. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate and coordinate with various teams to assure strategic People initiatives and goals are met both quarterly and annually.
Responsibilities:
- Full cycle recruitment for employees and volunteers including orientation and on-boarding.
- Support for all day-to-day People functions and activities.
- Administration and oversight of the Volunteer Management Program.
- Administrative work including maintenance of all employee records ensuring accuracy in the HRIS system.
- Provide day-to-day advice and direction to inquiries with respect to interpretation of People and Volunteer policies, best practices, and processes.
- Assist leaders and employees in understanding their role in the performance management cycle and continually reviewing processes to support that understanding.
- Ensure positive relationship with all employees are fostered and assist in the resolution of issues.
- Coach employees to work through issues of concern, along with the involvement of others as appropriate.
- Support ongoing learning and develop opportunities for employees.
- Collaborate with the People team on matters related to employee relations to assist in the acceptable resolution of issues/concerns.
- Contribute to the Compensation Framework through development and maintenance of position descriptions & evaluations.
- Benefits administration.
- HR metrics reporting.
- Administer Leave Management programs.
- Ensure Legislative compliance at all times.
Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of a post-secondary Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management

Experience:
- Three – five yearsβ (3 β 5) progressive generalist experience in Human Resources (a combination of education and experience will be considered an asset)
- Proven ability to apply Human Resources principles to various situations within the employee lifecycle to a wide audience and provide guidance and advice on policy or procedure interpretation.
- Experience in full cycle recruitment.
- Experience in payroll, benefits, and leave management processes and best practices.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant employment legislation and application.
- Previous experience in volunteer management software is as asset.
- Intermediate level Word and Excel and strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint.
- Experience administering a HRIS System (HUMI experience considered an asset) .

This position is a Full-time Temporary Maternity Leave Coverage for the period of 12 β 18 months with the possibility of extension.
