Thank you to all our fantastic guests and donors who came out to this year’s Gala & Auction, presented by the Shelley and Guy Scott Family Foundation, SUiL Management and Kim and Don Wheaton.
This year, the gala was hosted by Edmonton’s own Ashley Callingbull, best known as the first Indigenous and Canadian to win the Miss Universe competition in 2015 and more recently, the first Indigenous woman to be featured to be featured in Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in May this year.
Entering into the space, guests found themselves seated in a never-before-seen seating plan that featured stages throughout the space to make every seat, the best seat in the house, and all surrounded by signature Festival of Trees’ trees and the shimmering effects of the northern lights.
Over the course of the evening, guests enjoyed a delectable six-course meal, a live and silent auction and world class entertainment, presented by
Capital Power, including traditional hoop dancer James Jones, better known by his stage name “Notorious Cree;” Edmonton-based pop and R&B vocalist Tea G and Sangea, a colourful and diverse West African performance group.
As with all Festival of Trees events, proceeds from the Gala & Action go towards our fundraising cause and supporting patients at the University of Alberta Hospital.
