Festival in the Garden returned for a second year and was a major success, thanks to our incredible community. Hosted on August 17, 2023 at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden, guests enjoyed an adults-only evening with drinks, charcuterie and live entertainment in the beautiful Aga Khan Garden.

Festival in the Garden featured

Jade Roads has spent years travelling with her craft, delighting audiences across the world with her honest and intimate performances. Her music has taken her across Mexico, Australia, Indonesia and Texas, touring with festival circuits and performing at countless live venues and events.

An accomplished musician, Jade is bringing her unique blend of reggae, soul, blues and folk to get audiences reflecting on treasured memories and dancing in the grass at this year’s Festival in the Garden.

 

Lead singer of award-winning Canadian Country band, The Prairie States, Mathew Cardinal will get toes tapping and hands clapping at this year’s Festival in the Garden. At the age of 10, Mat found salvation in music after being diagnosed with kidney disease. Today, he showcases his talent through acoustic gigs, open mic nights and more.

Directions

The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is located in Parkland County, 15 minutes southwest of Edmonton, 5 km north of Devon on Hwy 60. Please note the Garden is not located on the University of Alberta campus. 

Free parking is available directly outside the University of Alberta Botanic Garden.  

Frequently asked questions

Festival in the Garden is an 18+ event. 

Guests can choose between standard, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-friendly or pork free charcuterie boxes at the time of ticket purchase. 

Outside food and drink are not permitted in the garden.  

Guests will have access to the Aga Khan Garden for the duration of the event.

Guests will have their pick of seating location within the Aga Khan Garden. We recommend you bring a blanket or folding chairs.

As this event is held outdoors, in the case of severe weather that prohibits entertainment, guests will have the option to pick up their charcuterie box.
