2021 Festival of
Trees Frequently
Asked Questions

How can we celebrate?

Online Auction – November 16 – December 5
UHF 50/50 – November 23 – December 23
Festival in a Box - Sales start October 22nd
Santa's Breakfast - December 11-12 & 18-19

Why is the Festival different this year?

In order to ensure the health and safety of our guests and volunteers, the decision was made to return to host outdoor and online events and experiences so everyone can share the joy without the risk.
As a representative of the University Hospital and an agent of change, the UHF believes it is our responsibility to ensure that we are actively looking at ways we can take health initiatives to the next level. We determined that hosting an in-person event at this time would not represent that responsibility and purpose.

What impact will my participation and donation have?

This year, funds raised through the University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees will support the Phase 2 expansion of West Edmonton Kidney Care, a University of Alberta Hospital community facility, to make life better for people living with end-stage kidney disease.

What is your correct legal name and charitable registration number?

Our official legal name is “University Hospital Foundation” and our charitable registration number is 88900-3240 RR0001.

Is the University of Alberta Botanic Garden Wheelchair Accessible?

While all areas of the event are accessible by paved pathway, accessibility will depend on weather conditions. Santa’s Breakfast is an outdoor event and subject to winter weather conditions, which might include freezing rain, compacted snow etc. Visitors should be aware there are some areas with grades where assistance is recommended for wheelchairs. Loaner wheelchairs are available in limited quantities.

Can more than one cohort/family dine in a Santa's Breakfast dome?

Up to two cohorts can dine together, up to 6 maximum guests at Santa's Breakfast.
