  • Why is this year’s Festival of Trees remaining a hybrid event?

The University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees introduced virtual events and experiences in 2020 and 2021 that could be enjoyed from home, due to COVID-19. Since then, our community has expressed a continued desire for popular additions like the Online Auction and Festival in a Box. To offer experiences for everyone to enjoy, no matter their age or ability, we are continuing a hybrid festival for the 2022 Festival of Trees that includes more exciting opportunities.

Where can I view the decorated trees?

You can view a selection of our famously-decorated trees at the Winter Wonderland holiday market at RE/MAX Field.

What impact will my participation and donation have?

For patients with debilitating brain and spinal cord injuries, early access to advanced rehabilitation is critical to recovery. It’s also hard to get. Currently, the wait to be transferred to an inpatient rehab facility is between two weeks to a month. With your support, we are going to provide these patients with early access to innovative treatments and state-of-the-art technology with the creation of a new Neuro Rehabilitation Innovation Centre at the University of Alberta Hospital.

Will I need to provide proof of vaccination or wear a mask for in-person events?

Currently, no event venues require guests to provide proof of vaccination or to wear a mask.

Can I purchase tickets to an event, at the event itself?

Each of our in-person events have a capacity for seating and/or tickets, therefore tickets for Festival in the Garden, Silver Bell Soirée and Santa’s Breakfast are available on our website only.

    Are all events family-friendly?

While we have events that are family-friendly, including the wildly popular Santa’s Breakfast, some of our events, like Silver Bell Soirée and the Festival in the Garden, are designed for adults-only. We recommend checking for age requirements for an event on the event page itself.

I am unable to attend an event or participate in one of the experiences, but I want to support the cause. How can I do this?

This year’s Festival of Trees cause is neurological rehabilitation. To donate online you can click here or you can call our Donor Office at 780-407-7007 to donate by mail.
Your donation will support the creation of a Neuro Rehabilitation Innovation Centre at the University of Alberta Hospital. You can learn more about how funds raised from the 2022 Festival of Trees will transform neurological rehabilitation at givetouhf.ca/festival-of-trees/about-us/neuro-rehab.
